Emma Woodgate joins me for a guest blog on how COVID-19 has affected her small business in the photography industry
How has COVID-19 affected your business?
COVID has meant that I have been unable to photograph since March. With my studio being in my home it’s not been safe for my family or my clients to continue. As I’m in the early stages of my business and because I don’t have commercial premises I have not qualified for any financial assistance. It has meant bringing forward the long term plan of building a studio in the garden!
Have you had to look for other streams of income during these difficult times?
In order to make some income this year I have diversified my offerings. Between the two lockdowns I was offering outdoor portrait sessions. Also for Christmas I have been offering pictures with santa where parents provide an image and then they receive a gift and a letter from santa.
